NEMESIS EXTINGUISH THE BURN 42-8.

Annapolis, MD-The story of the evening for the Nemesis was the defense, led by the defensive line, who were all named as MVP's, Shannon Lamie, Deb DelToro and Carley Pesente leading the Nemesis to a 42-8 win in National Women's Football Association (NWFA) action on Saturday night.  The Nemesis held the Burn to a total of 134 total yards in total offense.  The Nemesis defense put pressure on the Burn offense for most of the evening and limited what they could do offensively.  The defense forced several turnovers including interceptions by Donna Bruce and Missy Marmorale, who took hers to the bank for a 43 yard touchdown.  The defense also added a score on a 25 yard punt return for a TD by Lauren Manfred.

On offense the Nemesis showcased the versatility of their attack rushing for 133 yards on the night and adding 203 yards in the air.  Offensive MVP Val Monaco, made the most of her 4 catches on the evening with acrobatic catches, hauling one in for a score.  Kate Slack was another favorite target on the night for QB Val Halesworth, adding 61 yards on some tough catches over the middle.  Ximora Diaz, 8-77-2 TD's and Miriam Gable 9-43 led the ground attack for the Nemesis.

The Nemesis improve to 3-0 on the season and return home to SUNY-Maritime on May 17, 2008 at 3:05 PM to take on the Maine Freeze.
